WHAT IS SQL FORMATTER?

The SQL Formatter reformats SQL statements for readability, according to the dialect and indentation you choose.

Important

  1. This tool only reformats text — it does not validate SQL correctness, and it never connects to or executes against a database.
  2. If formatting fails, your original input is left untouched.

How to use?

  1. Choose the SQL dialect, indentation and keyword case.
  2. Paste SQL and click Format.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool validate whether my SQL is correct?

No — this is purely a formatting/beautifying tool. It does not check whether a statement would actually run, and it never connects to a database or executes SQL.

Will my input disappear if formatting fails?

No — on a formatting error your original input is left completely unchanged; only an error message is shown, the input is never cleared or overwritten.

Which database dialects are supported?

Generic SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, and SQL Server (T-SQL) — six dialects.

This tool only reformats SQL syntax — it does not validate correctness, does not execute SQL, and does not connect to any database. If formatting fails, your original input is left completely unchanged.
