WHAT IS HTML FORMATTER?

Pretty-print and indent HTML source. The result is shown as plain text only — scripts are never executed and there is no live preview.

How to use?

  1. Paste or upload your HTML.
  2. Choose an indent (2 or 4 spaces, or tab).
  3. Click Format, then copy the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool execute the HTML I paste in?

Absolutely not. The formatted result is shown as plain text in the output box only — it is never rendered as a live page, and never executes <script> tags, event handlers, or <iframe> content. This is a source formatter, not an HTML preview.

Are the contents of <script> or <style> reformatted?

Their original content is preserved rather than deeply reformatted — only the surrounding block's indentation level is adjusted, to avoid breaking their internal syntax.

How does it handle malformed HTML?

HTML5 itself is lenient about certain patterns (like omitted closing tags), and those are reasonably auto-corrected; but genuinely conflicting tag nesting produces a clear error message.

Formatting runs entirely in your browser — the source you paste or upload here is never sent to any server.
