WHAT IS PDF SPLITTER?

PDF Splitter uses the in-browser pdf-lib library to copy real page content when splitting — pages are never rasterized, so text, vector graphics, and fonts are all fully preserved.

Features

  1. Page ranges mode: enter a range like 1-3 or 1,3,5-8 to produce a single output file.
  2. Every N pages mode: automatically splits into multiple files of a fixed page count.
  3. Custom groups mode: enter one range per line to produce several custom output files at once.
  4. Input is validated live, with a preview of how many files will be produced before processing.

How to use?

  1. Drag or click to upload one PDF file.
  2. Choose a split mode and enter the range or groups.
  3. Click "Split", then download individually or via ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Splitting uses pdf-lib to copy real page content (text, vector graphics, fonts) directly — pages are never rasterized, so quality exactly matches the source.

What is the difference between the three split modes?

"Page ranges" produces one file from a specified range; "Every N pages" automatically splits into equal-sized files; "Custom groups" lets you enter multiple ranges (one per line) to produce several custom files at once.

What happens if I enter an invalid page range?

The tool validates input live (e.g. reversed ranges, page numbers beyond the total) and shows a clear error message before you click "Split".
