WHAT IS SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR?

Scientific Calculator supports the four basic operators, parentheses, powers, square roots, trig functions, logarithms, and factorial — evaluated by a hand-written expression parser, never eval or Function.

Features

  1. A degrees/radians toggle is applied automatically before evaluating trig functions.
  2. Expressions have a length cap and unrecognized syntax is rejected cleanly — never shown as Infinity or NaN.
  3. A keypad is provided, and the expression can also be typed directly.

How to use?

  1. Choose degrees or radians.
  2. Type an expression or use the keypad below.
  3. The result updates instantly — click “Copy result” or “Clear”.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool use eval or JavaScript's Function to compute results?

No, never. Expressions are handled by a hand-written tokenizer and recursive-descent parser that only ever produces a number — there is no code path that can execute arbitrary JavaScript.

What happens if I divide by zero or take the square root of a negative number?

A clear "mathematically undefined" error is shown — never a meaningless Infinity or NaN.

What's the difference between degrees and radians mode?

The toggle only affects the input unit for sin/cos/tan: in degrees mode the number you enter is treated as degrees, in radians mode as radians, converted automatically before evaluating — no other operator is affected.

For general math only — not a graphing calculator or a computer algebra system (CAS).
