GPA Calculator lets you add multiple courses (grade and credits) and computes a weighted GPA on a common 4.0 scale by default. The result is an estimate.
Not necessarily. Different schools use different GPA scales — this tool defaults to a common 4.0 scale, and the result is only an estimate based on that scale, not a universal academic standard.
Many (not all) schools on a 4.0 scale add one more step below D as D- (0.7). This tool includes it by default and documents that choice explicitly here, rather than claiming it's the only correct approach.
A clear error is shown, since a weighted average is mathematically undefined with a zero denominator.
You can also type a numeric grade point (e.g. 3.5) directly instead of a letter grade.
