UTM Builder

Build campaign tracking links with UTM parameters, keeping any existing query parameters.

Platform presets

Clicking a preset only pre-fills utm_source/utm_medium — both stay fully editable.

Normalization

Regardless of these toggles, parameter values are always URL-encoded.

Generated URL

Enter a destination URL above.

This tool only parses and builds the URL locally in your browser — it never makes a request to the destination and never opens or navigates to it.

WHAT IS UTM BUILDER?

The UTM Builder adds tracking parameters like utm_source and utm_medium to a destination URL, so campaign performance can be tracked in tools like Google Analytics.

Important

  1. Every existing query parameter is preserved. If the URL already has UTM parameters, you are clearly notified and they are pre-filled — never silently overwritten.
  2. This tool builds one link at a time — bulk generation of many links is a planned V2 feature, not included here.

How to use?

  1. Paste the destination URL, then pick a platform preset or fill in the UTM fields yourself.
  2. Copy the generated URL below.

Frequently asked questions

Will my URL's existing query parameters be removed?

No. This tool only adds or updates utm_* parameters — every other existing query parameter (like ?id=123) is always preserved, never overwritten or removed.

What happens if the pasted URL already has UTM parameters?

The tool detects them and shows a clear notice that the URL already has UTM parameters, pre-filling their existing values into the form so you can review or edit them before regenerating — nothing is silently overwritten.

Do the normalization options change my URL's meaning?

Lowercasing, converting spaces to hyphens, and trimming whitespace are all independently toggleable. Regardless of their state, parameter values are always correctly URL-encoded, so the generated URL is always valid.
