WHAT IS IP LOOKUP?

IP Lookup retrieves RDAP registry data and reverse DNS for any IPv4, IPv6, domain, or URL. Private/reserved ranges short-circuit immediately and are never sent to an external provider.

Important

  1. When you enter a URL, only its hostname is extracted for lookup — this tool never makes a request to the URL itself.
  2. Geolocation and network/ASN fields have no provider wired in this version and are honestly marked "currently unavailable."

How to use?

  1. Enter an IP address, domain, or URL and click Lookup.
  2. If a domain resolves to multiple IPs, pick which one to view — you can also copy or download the full JSON result.

Frequently asked questions

When I look up a URL, does this tool connect to that URL?

Never. When you enter a URL, this tool only uses standard URL parsing to extract its hostname — it never makes a request to the URL itself.

Why doesn't 192.168.1.1 or 127.0.0.1 show a geolocation?

Because those are private or reserved-range addresses (e.g. RFC 1918 private ranges, loopback) that are not publicly routable on the internet. This tool short-circuits them immediately and never sends them to any external lookup provider.

Is the RDAP and reverse DNS data actually looked up live?

Yes. RDAP is routed through the official IANA bootstrap files to the correct regional registry (ARIN, RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC, or AFRINIC) for a live query, and reverse DNS uses a standard DNS PTR lookup — both are real, free, keyless data sources.

Supports IPv4, IPv6, domain names, or URLs (a URL's hostname is extracted only — it is never fetched).
